He does not mention the durability of the photographs that is better with the Selphy. Though comparing to the Selphy CP-910, they said that the price and quality of the pictures where still quite good. The epson is cheaper to run, faster though not based on the thermal printing process (it is inkjet only). Others use the CARPS, or cnijfilter (cnijfilter2 AUR / cnijfilter2-bin AUR), or Canon CAPT drivers. Some of Canon's LBP, iR, and MF printers use a driver supporting the UFR II/UFR II LT/LIPSLX protocols, UFRII. Many Canon printers are supported by Gutenprint and foomatic-db-ppds. But even selecting the SELPHY CP900 drivers it refuses to print.
